Broward Women’s Emergency Fund

Founded in August 2003, the Broward Women’s Emergency Fund (BWEF) believes that the right to choose abortion is meaningless without access to safe, legal abortion services. We oppose all efforts to restrict abortion rights and are committed to fighting for access to comprehensive reproductive healthcare, including abortion care, for all women, girls and pregnant folks, regardless of income, race, age, ability, gender identity or immigration status.

Need Help?

If you need help paying for an abortion in Broward County, the Broward Women’s Emergency Fund may be able to help you. First, make your appointment at one of the following clinics:

AASTRA Women’s Center
10 SW 44th Avenue
Plantation, FL 33317

East Cypress Women’s Center
962 East Cypress Creek Rd.
Fort Lauderdale, FL 33334

BSSI Abortion Services
7777 North University Drive #102
Tamarac, FL 33321

When you call for your appointment, let the clinic know you would like help with funding, and they will contact the Broward Women’s Emergency Fund.

Where Will My Donation Go?

At a time when our reproductive rights are increasingly under attack by anti-abortion ideologues in Washington DC, Tallahassee and across the state, your support is needed now more than ever.

Your contribution will go directly to the women who need it; none of your money will go to administrative costs. (BWEF members contribute their time and costs.)

100% of your contribution will provide direct financial assistance to people seeking abortion care who need help covering the costs.

You can also set up a monthly donation to help make reproductive rights a reality for all Floridians.

Choose your amount and become a monthly sustainer to give the gift of access to reproductive rights in Broward County

🌮 I’m taking the Taco or Beer Challenge to support BWEF – Broward Women’s Emergency Fund because I support their work. BWEF has been funding abortion care for patients in South Florida since 2003, providing thousands with small grants to help pay for their procedures. I donated $XX to #FundAbortionBuildPower using this link and I challenge @friend1, @friend2, and @friend3 to join me. Tag! You’re it! #ToBC19
